LBS workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility
On 11 May 2007 GlobeUp invited Benedikt Metternich from Austrian development charity ICEP to give a presentation at London Business School which was hosted by LBS Responsible Business Club. The title of the workshop was Companies as Global Citizens: Who are the Beneficiaries of Global CSR?
An excerpt from the LBS email advertisement:
An increasing number of companies are working to contribute to poverty alleviation projects around the world, with the term 'Global CSR' being newly-coined for this activity. The Responsible Business Club is very pleased to invite Benedikt Metternich (MA, LSE) - a veteran in poverty alleviation projects worldwide - to speak on the above topic. Benedikt works for Institute for Cooperation in Development Projects (ICEP), a Vienna-based development charity, supervising work on an EU-funded project to clarify what Global CSR means for major corporate actors across Europe. The EU study was tasked with answering several key questions: What is the attitude of European companies to Global CSR? How can/do they implement it? Is there a European trend? What are the benefits for companies and global citizens?
